Based on the response to my last post and the current series at Fellowship, I'm not the only one who's politicked right now!
Good.
And one of the most asked questions I'm hearing is: But what can I do to make a difference?
That's a great question. After all, the political process seems so much bigger than those of us it's designed to protect. So what can you do? The answer is: vote.
But whether you find yourself standing on the left or the right, don't make your mind up too soon. Because this weekend I'm going to put my reputation on the line and tell you exactly who should take the reins and lead this country over the next four years.
That's right. In just a few days, I'm going to tell you who you should vote for...

Thank you Ed Young for your words of truth on how to pic a canidate based on Gods word. Too many Christians are getting sucked into the Liberal media and it's truly scary. I wrongly assumed because we are Christian all would vote conservitely, but a few Christian friends of mine ended up voting againt what God's word really tells us. They went with Hollywood and Oprah instead. It truly saddens me.

Ed, I saw the first showing of your series on Daystar this morning and I am so glad that we have a leader that stands up for what is right and points out the problems that we have today. It seems that everything has been twisted into peoples own perspectives or their "relativity". You hit it right on the target and pointed out alot of relevant issues, keep it up brother! I can't wait to hear your service next week. In God We Trust!

I thought the lastest message was masterfully done. Incredibly clear.

We love attending Fellowship Church and have LOVED the current series. I am very proud of our Pastor and Church for taking a stand. As a "younger American" I am so disgusted in the fact that celebrities use there fame to endorse a candidate yet the fact that a Church is talking politics is so wrong. In the twisted world we live in, where wrong is becoming right and right is becoming wrong, isn't the Church the only place you can turn to? People love to say there Constitutional rights are being violated, isn't this a perfect example? It seems to me the people opposing what Ed Young and other Churches and Pastors are doing are afraid that they will have to fight there beliefs against traditional, bible taught, morals and values, and wrongs and rights.
Keep doing what you are doing. People are listening. Hopefully the Church can do what it was created for and get the message out about Christ and how God intended our lives to be lived and our leaders lives to be lived.

Ed, can't wait to view your message online!
Thanks for bringing C3 on the road and coming to Northway Church!! It was amazing! Everyone is still talking about it and the effect of that day will continue in the Northeast for years to come!

I can't wait to hear what you have to say. I think many Christians are lost when it comes to this election. I know I have had a hard time knowing who to vote for. Thanks for putting yourself out there and guiding us in the right direction.
I will be staying tuned!!

The reason I became a member of Fellowship Church is because the head Pastor does not skirt around the issues. He tells it like it is and in many cases uses his own failures as an example for how he has come to understand God's will for us. Anyone who is building their life on God's Word and building God's Word into their
their life knows in their heart that Ed and his Church, Fellowship, is an accurate and passionate representation of the Bible.
We all know the power celebrities have on our society. The intelligent and high profile celebrities are media savvy and know precisely the agenda they are advocating. Just as you and I are accountable for our decisions, they are responsible for the messages they endorse and the actions they produce. I only hope Oprah discovers that Ed mentioned her name and that she has the integrity to ask him on her show to discuss her beliefs vs the Bible. Now that would be enlightening!
Isaiah 45:19 I publicly proclaim bold promises. I do not whisper obscurities in some dark corner. I would not have told the people of Israel to seek me if I could not be found. I, the Lord, speak only what is true and declare only what is right.
It's exciting to be part of a Church that stands up for Wisdom.

Regarding the comments "why we don't applaud when we discuss other sins, or why we should applaud sins at all", I know that what moves me to applause is to acknowledge the truth. Church seems to be the only place I can do that anymore and not be shouted down. Some countries do not allow certain Biblical truths to be spoken in public, not even in church. I pray America never falls to such political correctness. As to only certain sins being discussed, I recall a few weeks ago many brave people got up in front of the whole congregation to share their struggles written on cardboard signs. Then they flipped the signs over to share how Jesus was working in their lives to overcome their struggles. My heart burst as each person flipped their sign, and I was moved to tears and applause, and yes, I could relate to many of those struggles.

Since we already have citizenship in Heaven, I think we should avoid political things on Earth.

The truth doesn't alway feel good. And it is going to make some people feel uncomfortable. That's the whole point of truth. Otherwise, it would be called condonement. Your vote is the reflection of your belief system. We are truely in a fight against relativism and subjectivism. The truth is not subjective or relative. Vote your conscience.... but remember it is a reflection of your beliefs....which are who you are.

Not to say that I have as much reputation as Pastor Ed, I am similarly placing my reputation on line as follows:
It is 7:49am on sunday morning. Chances are that Ed will not have read this note before appearing before the church for his talk; thus he would not have been influenced by it.
Deut 18:22 states: "If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him."
I am risking being regarded as a false prophet by prophesying that Pastor Ed will not categorically come out and ask the church to vote republican. What he will end up doing is point the church to the "hills" for from thence our help and hope cometh from. You watch!!!

Hey Ed,
I just wanted you to know that I thought you spoke very bold and CLEARLY regarding the battles at hand in our nation last weekend. Thank you for reminding us of what our country has become and the sins that we have too often tried to protect and approve of. We all know that it is only by God's grace that we have been saved, but standing back as Christians and allowing our nation to go down the path it's going is NOT what Christ has called us to do. Just as you stated last week "as Christ-followers, we build bridges of love and grace, but we also DRAW THE LINE" where the line needs to be drawn. Do we realize that behind the legalization of homosexual marriage stands the polygamist groups and so many other radicals just waiting to get their lifestyle approved? Do we realize the implications that this would have on our children and a society where having one mother and a father would no longer be a requirement? Do we realize that this would be a social experiment that has never been performed and would literally be the definition of CHAOS? What about when it's a law in every state and then the churches must perform these marriages? Some may think that the words are harsh and that they might turn someone away, I see it as really thinking of the consequences of where our country is headed. These implications are serious, and often times not thought about. It is our DUTY as Christ followers to think through these things, and really know "the contest at hand"!
Anyhow, thank you for being bold in your message. I know you catch a lot of criticism, but I'm so proud to say that I'm a part of a church that stands to make a difference, and not just blend in to keep the peace. Keep going strong, our prayers are with you Ed!

This is such a divisive topic. All I can say is...I hope nothing is further said this weekend that implies those with my political views are not welcome at Fellowship. I like this church and want to stay!
I wonder how the swift applause from the audience during the sermon on some sins affects those who have come to church looking for God's grace and love. We are all sinners. I wonder why we don't applaud when we discuss other sins, or why we should applaud sins at all. Is it just our way of making ourselves feel better? ("Yes! Homosexuality is BAD--I don't struggle with THAT sin"). Pointing out specific celebrities' as sinners seems judgmental and not Christ-like. The implication that there are "good" people and "bad" people has always troubled me. I believe there are two kinds of people: those who are saved and those who could be. We are all sinners. Only God knows our hearts. None of us deserve heaven, it is by God's grace. In different ways we all could be the example of what NOT to do. I hope I don't get called out as the example:).

I look forward to hearing the rest of the msg, but I had to comment on the intro.
We just took our 11 yr old son to his first college game at my alma mater, Auburn University. We had a different experience than you did with your twins. It may have been where we were sitting, but we had no drinkers around us and no bad language was heard. I like to think that it's because Auburn's just a little closer to heaven than those schools in FL. :)

Wow, it was like it was me up there talking! Great minds think alike, lol! Most of my life I have been passionate about the truth, and you said it. It is a sad fact that most people cannot discern the truth from falsehoods in there lives. We become too involved in the spectacle of life to realize the importance of why we are here, and how we are to live our lives, and it is scary to give up complete control. I myself admit have been a victim of that pitfall.
